Meet the Scaliwags

Stacy - owner / captain

A lover of life, adventure, good wine and cheese, Stacy is a natural when it comes to the sea. She has delivered or raced boats up and down both US coasts, into Mexico, around the South Pacific and BVI. In 2018, she was recruited to the US 11 Meter Worlds team in Norway and Sweden. Officially described by the US Government as "Operation Tequila", she secured 2nd place through her brilliant and infamous pub-reconnaissance mission to gain critical intel from the competition. Today, she lives a quiet life racing any boat she can get her hands on, including her own liveaboard, "Rhiannon", the star of the 2025 Transpac .

JAMIE - CREW CHIEF

Jamie fell in love with sailing as a kid on lakes and kept looking for bigger waters. Skippered the winning (2nd place) 11 Meter world's team in Sweden and Norway. Came back to crew aboard Avanti for Transpac 2015. Dropped out due to a rudder bearing failure and has unfinished business on this race course! He currently races aboard his Diode 36, Seawolf, out of Marina del Rey. He knows he has his work cut out turning this team of skaliwags into top condition racers on the high seas.

BRIAN - navigation & SPEED WHISPERER

Don't be fooled by his quiet demeanor. Normally cast as The Professor, Brian knows just how to talk to Rhiannon, coaxing mysterious kts out of the mainsail. He whispers sweet courses to her late at night and we never quite know where we'll end up, but we're always in front of the pack! He also has a wingspan any bow babe or mast jumper would be jealous of, making him a triple-threat! Captain of his own racing boat, Joy, he is an avid solo-sailor. We hope he doesn't mind our company as we stalk the next horizon.

COURTNEY - WIND SEEKER

Usually found swashbuckling her way through a Renaissance event, Courtney has the cunning ability to 'see' the wind and call the puffs. She is a bow babe extraordinaire aboard Freja in Seattle, but just as comfortable at the helm and trimming - a true triple threat!

ALEX - BOW BABE

Alex grew up sailing his Dad's Ta Shing Baba 40 on Lake Superior where he found peacefulness and a deep connection to nature and physics, leading him into a career in aerospace. Living in Seattle, he crewed on a cruiser-racer, Freja, completing the challenging 2023 Van Isle 360. While work led him to Los Angeles, a connection from Freja led him to Seawolf and then to Rhiannon where he's helping the team push boundaries and embrace the challenges while measuring twice and cutting once.

TRACY - Medic & WILDLIFE WHISPERER

Tracy transitioned from life as a Divemaster and powerboat helmswoman to competitive sailing 12 years ago, where she quickly fell in love with offshore racing. Based out of Marina Del Rey, CA, she excels in line handling, sail changes, sail trim and grinding, bringing precision and calm to high-pressure situations.  She is known for her quick adaptability and clear communication, ensuring seamless coordination between crew members. Her crewmates often refer to her as a 'whale and dolphin whisperer' for her unique ability to spot marine life during races. Offshore racing has become a natural extension of her adventurous spirit, and she thrives on the challenge and camaraderie of the open water.

steven - mischief manager

As mysterious as the Loch Ness and as bouncy as a Tigger, Steven is both everywhere and nowhere to be found. Splitting his time between Texas and California;  aerospace engineer, dad of the year, and yachtsman; bow babe and yacht decluttering master; his yin and yang are many sided and precariously balanced! He built his racing chops on Wolfhound (11 Meter) and is ready to step up and into Team Rhiannon, making sure we are 'race ready.'

CAPTAIN BRYAN - NAV-ADVisor

Bryan started his love affair with the sea as a kid through deep sea fishing. He joined the US Navy as a Corpsman and RN, but didn't catch much fish. Did a winter-over in Antarctica and Desert Storm with the US Marines. Worked in health care and rekindled his love for the open water aboard his family's boat, earning his 100 ton USCG license. He lends his deep experience to the team, helping make sure that island pops up on the horizon exactly where and when it's supposed to!

HEIDI - Shore-based logistician

Heidi is a globe-trotter with frequent visits south of the equator and north of the arctic circle. She has been living a cruising lifestyle since retiring as an elementary school principal 6 years ago. With many miles under her keel aboard Rhiannon, Heidi is helping us plan and prepare provisions to make sure the crew is stocked with coffee, snacks and plenty of 'go fast' meals!

PETER - ADVISOR, technically

Peter may be new to sailing as far as this crew goes, but as master of the numbers, he gets another tenth of a knot out of this crew with the wit and whip of his tongue. A behind the scenes guy with a deep knowledge of aerospace and mechanical hokus-pokus, his advice and know how in boat preparations is invaluable.

J-DOS - TECHNICAL ADVISOR

This 'man of mystery' is FluxBranding's creative engine and creator of Rhiannon's new logo. An indispensable part of our crew dynamic and long-time racer aboard boats too numerous to count in the Santa Monica Bay.
